Beloved Wisconsin educator dies at 32 from COVID-19


Kelly Burnett, a paraprofessional at Silver Lake Intermediate School in Oconomowoc, died Oct. 25.

Even when Kelly Burnett was younger, she needed to assist others.

“When she was in highschool and even center faculty, my oldest son was recognized with autism,” mentioned Christina Kline, Burnett’s sister. “She actually took an curiosity in particular wants children then and went to (College of Wisconsin-Whitewater). From there she was a therapist at Wisconsin Early Autism Mission for some time and moved on to be a paraprofessional.”

Burnett, who grew up in Mukwonago and moved from Oconomowoc to Hartland within the final couple years, died Oct. 25 of COVID-19, her sister confirmed. Burnett was 32 years previous.

She labored as a paraprofessional for the previous 5 years at Silver Lake Intermediate School in Oconomowoc.

“Kelly can be deeply missed by her household, our college and neighborhood,” Silver Lake Principal Jill Marr wrote to oldsters in an Oct. 26 letter. “She had such a constructive influence on the lives round her. Kelly was a selfless one that was at all times prepared to assist others and was so supportive of her household, college students and employees.”
