Frank Lost 100 lbs and Reversed Diabetes

My story started when my wife got pregnant and we had twin girls at the age of 44. I am a local truck driver who works 10-16 hours a day and had diabetes and high blood pressure. My doctor told me that if I ever wanted to walk my daughters down the isle, I would have to lose weight or I wouldn’t live long enough to see it happen.

I started Keto when I weighed 307lbs 8 months ago and continue to do so to this day. I no longer have high blood pressure and my diabetes is gone. I currently weigh 210 lbs and have set a goal to get to 185 before the spring of next year. Ruled.me showed me the door but it was up to me to walk through it.

Thank you for all you have done for the Keto community.

1. What tactics did you use to help you reach your goal? What helped you best achieve your goals?

Keep it simple. Find good meal ideas that mimic things you’re already used to like pizza, hamburgers, eggs, and work with that.

2. What is the most impactful change you have made to your diet and why do you feel it is the most important?

The most important change I made was to lower my total carb intake. Lowering your carbs is the secret to better overall health. As you will soon discover the benefits are amazing.

3. What is the best advice you can give to someone just starting out?

Just allow yourself to adjust to the fact that you weren’t eating as many carbs and you’ll be fine.

4. How do you feel your life is now that you are on your goal?

Everything is so easy as there is no need to lift weights just to move around and your thoughts are much clearer and focused.

5. What do you consider the biggest change in your daily life?

Not wanting to eat or thinking about your next meal, having the energy to do what needs to be done without eating or drinking.

6. What did you do to get help throughout your journey?

I used my daughter’s well-being as motivation as well as long-term work for her.

7. What do you currently do to manage your daily diet?

I try to maintain a low carb diet and only eat when I’m hungry.

8. What is your favorite keto recipe from www.ruled.me that has become a staple?

My favorite Ruled.me recipe used to be low carb pizza, then I changed it up as I got further along in my journey. One of the best casseroles imaginable.

9. If you could do one thing differently during your trip, what would it be and why?

I wish I had started keto earlier in life. Life is too precious to waste being fat. You can gain a lot from being healthy.
